    Dyspepsia - commonly called as Indigestion. Indigestion, is a common term used for pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen that may occur occasionally in a child. Indigestion is usually minor, and can be managed with home treatments. In Siddha System of Medicine, Indigestion can be compared with SERIYA MAANTHAM, In Children indigestion usually occurs when;

  •  Eating very fast and frequently
  •  Eating outside foods - oily and sugary items
  •  Stress
  •  Medications and Obesity
 Symptoms of Indigestion in Children
  • Nausea
  • Bloating
  • Vomiting
  • Flatulence
  • Burping
  • Acid may shoot up from stomach to mouth.
  • Poor appetite
Some of the Home remedies:

1. Omam (Trachyspermum ammi)
      Commonly called as ajwain, Ajwain should be soaked in hot water for 20 - 30 minutes and filtered, This is consumed for three times a day before taking food.

2. Garlic milk
        It is a combination of 5-6 peeled garlic cloves, milk and turmeric, One glass of milk is made to boil, to this garlic cloves and turmeric are added. Consumed three times a day, Quantity - 50mL(Each time).

3. Sombu (Foeniculum vulgare)
            Commonly called as Fennel, Fennel should be soaked in hot water for 20 - 30 minutes and filtered. 

4. Jeera (Cuminum cymium)
        Jeera soaked in hot water for 20 - 30 minutes and filtered.

5. A pinch of Asafoetida with buttermilk

6. Hot water
